Frequently Asked Questions

What is the default file size?

If you leave the target size field blank, the tool automatically uses 200 KB as the target for the output PDF.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes. Select multiple images using Ctrl+Click or Cmd+Click. Each image becomes one page in the resulting PDF, in the order you selected them.

How accurate is the target file size?

The tool uses binary-search compression to get within 5% of your target. Actual size depends on image content — photographs compress differently from scanned text documents.

Will my image quality be affected?

The tool finds the highest JPEG quality setting that fits within your target size. Quality loss is minimised. For very small targets (below 50 KB), some reduction in sharpness is expected.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. All conversion happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and pdf-lib. Your images never leave your device.
